We are so happy you’ve landed here. I’m Houssem Smail (Abu Faris). After years of dedication and vision, I am thrilled to finally share the Maha Academy concept and our debut products with you and the little ones in your world.
With a Master’s in Project Management from Northeastern University Boston USA, and a perspective shaped by my Algerian-American heritage, I have worked to bridge the gap between high-quality educational standards and authentic Islamic values.
At Maha Academy, our goal is to provide children with stories that are strictly compliant with the Quran and Sunnah. We want to help every child grasp just how special they are, while strengthening their connection to their roots, their faith, and our beautiful Muslim heritage.

Through the Little Muslim Adventures, we make the Deen and Iman accessible to the next generation.
Our Story
When you carry a piece of home within you, it stays with you no matter where life takes you. For me, that "home" was built on the rich heritage of my Algerian roots. Growing up, I was surrounded by stories of the splendor of North Africa—tales of vast, golden landscapes, the warmth of community, and the timeless wisdom passed down through generations.
When my son, Faris, was born, I found myself searching for children’s books that did more than just tell a story. I looked for products that reflected our unique Algerian-American identity and, most importantly, stories that were rooted in the truth and beauty of the Quran and Sunnah.
I searched endlessly for books that captured the heart of the Muslim world while remaining linguistically and spiritually authentic, but I couldn't find exactly what our children deserved. I wanted Faris to see himself in the characters and to understand the world through the lens of our faith and culture.
That is when the mission for Maha Academy began.
We set out to create an Muslim-centric children’s brand that truly reflects the soul of our region—from its diverse people and places to its beautiful language—all while remaining steadfast in Islamic values. Our Little Muslim Adventures series is the fruit of that journey, designed to bring the wonders of the Muslim world and the light of the Sunnah into your home.
